SCROLL
02The Problem

Cities are surrounded
by glass.

But most of it is passive.

Curtain-wall façades already face the sun for the entire life of a building. Today that surface carries light, heat and view — but no generation.

03The Opportunity

The surface
already exists.

What if it could do more?

05The Name
AETHER
INVISIBLEVISIBLE

An ancient idea of the invisible.

Reimagined for a modern world.

Turning invisible light into visible impact.

Aether was a philosophical idea of an unseen medium of the upper sky. It is used here as brand metaphor — not as a claim about modern physics.

06The Core Idea

Light in.
Current out.
The view stays.

07The Material Story

From waste to
functional material.

Can materials we throw away become part of the energy systems we build?

10The Science

The window doesn't absorb the sun.
It reimagines what it uses.

Only a selected fraction of incoming radiation interacts with the luminescent layer. The visible portion continues through the glass — which is why the window stays a window.

11UV Absorption

Selected ultraviolet radiation is absorbed by the luminescent material.

ZOOM · LUMINESCENT LAYER

12Downshifting

The absorbed energy is re-emitted at longer wavelengths.

13Internal Light Guiding

Internal reflection guides the emitted light through the panel.

TOTAL INTERNAL REFLECTION · CONTROLLED PATH

14Edge Concentration

Light from across the panel is concentrated at its edges.

The centre of the panel is never covered. Generation is moved to the perimeter, where the guided emission arrives.

15Electricity

Edge-mounted photovoltaic cells convert the received light into DC electricity.

No current flows through the glass itself — conversion happens only at the perimeter cells.

19Sustainable Development

Five goals, one surface.

AETHER is designed against the United Nations 2030 Agenda — a window that answers five of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals at once.

Goal 7

Affordable and Clean Energy

Clean generation from a surface every building already has.

Goal 9

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Glass becomes part of energy infrastructure, not just enclosure.

Goal 11

Sustainable Cities and Communities

Buildings contribute to the supply of the cities they sit in.

Goal 12

Responsible Consumption and Production

Agricultural waste re-enters the economy as a functional material.

Goal 13

Climate Action

Every generating window displaces conventional grid demand.

Contribution is framed qualitatively against the UN Sustainable Development Goals. No specific emissions, savings or generation figures are claimed at this stage.
